For Immediate Release:
West Central Iowa Healthcare Foundation’s Timmerman Project
Life Long Manning resident, Warren Timmerman donated 43 acres of farm ground to
the West Central Iowa Healthcare Foundation in 2000. This land is located on the
southwest corner of Hwy 141 and M66 on the west edge of Manning. This past year,
the Foundation Board of Directors decided to custom farm the ground and take
advantage of high corn prices. This project gave individuals and companies an
opportunity to assist the Foundation in ways that had not been considered
before.
The Foundation owes much to the following individuals and businesses for their
very generous donations. Some donated materials and others their time, machinery
and sweat to help this project become one of the most profitable fund raising
projects the Foundation has had.
Many thanks to John Gruhn & Mycogen Seed, Rich and Chris Danner, Brian Irlbeck,
Curt Sloss with BASF, and Duane Horsley with Bayer Corp for their contribution
to the success of this program. Thanks go to WCIHF Board members Roger Kenkel,
Larry Hagedorn, Gaylin Ranniger, Nancy Danner and Todd Stadtlander for their
contributions to the project.
The West Central Healthcare Foundation realized an income of nearly $22,000 to
promote their mission of supporting quality healthcare and promoting healthy
lifestyles for the people of our communities. The Board of Directors decided to
continue this project in 2008. Individuals or businesses who would like to be
involved in next year’s project can contact Dawn Lorenzen at 712-655-3624 or
Roger Kenkel at 712-653-3441.
