Iowa Healthcare Foundation Announces Web Site Launch
West Central Iowa Healthcare Foundation has unveiled a new web
site - http://www.wcihf.org - offering easy access to information about the Foundation, its
activities and fundraising efforts, community health information and links to
general health information.
"We appreciate that our donors and the general public
require increasingly sophisticated information to stay informed and make their
health care decisions, and we hope our web site will become a valuable tool in
that process," says Dawn Lorenzen, Executive Director of the Healthcare
Foundation. The site will offer quick links to a variety of healthcare information.
According to one national assessment, about 22 million adults
used the Internet last year for health and medical data.
Users of the site can find details about the on-going activities
of the Foundation, as well as donation and volunteer opportunities, donation
forms, memorial and honor listings, news about what is happening in the
community related to healthcare, listings of health and wellness links, and
much more. Of special interest is a continually updated calendar of events for
the general public.
More content and links will be added and updated throughout the
coming months. When fully developed, the site will offer numerous pages of
information, and links to a wide variety of health information and donation
opportunities. Individuals will be able to donate online and bid on silent
auction fundraisers. An eNewsletter will be offered by email to keep people
connected with what is going on in our community in regards to healthcare.
"While our web site will offer links to healthcare
information, keep in mind that information on the Internet does not replace
medical care by a trained professional," explains Lorenzen. "If
people have concerns about their health, they should contact a health care
professional directly."
